Planning A Shoot That Pays For Itself

The difference between photography as an expense and photography as an asset is planning. We build the shot list from your marketing plan, so the billboard crop, the website hero, the square feed version and the vertical story version of a shot all get captured in the same session instead of discovered missing later. We time sessions to your seasons, your launches and your campaigns, and we plan the library so a single day of shooting feeds months of marketing. The photographer’s craft makes the images good. The planning makes them useful.

Your website

Hero images, service pages, about and team pages, project galleries. Real photography is often the difference between a website that looks like a template and one that looks like a business.

Your social media

A single session produces weeks of feed content, and it pairs naturally with our content and posting programs so nothing sits unused.

Your marketing materials

Brochures, proposals, trade show displays, print ads, billboards and vehicle graphics. Print is unforgiving of low resolution stock, and owned photography is shot with those formats in mind from the start.

Your advertising

Ad creative built on real photos of your business connects the click to the experience customers actually get, on Meta, on Google and in every campaign we run for you.

On site at your business

Your shop floor, yard, office, showroom or job site, where the authenticity lives and your team is at ease.

At a venue or event

Launches, trade shows, conferences and community moments, covered as they happen.

In a photography studio

Controlled lighting for products, headshots and creative concepts that need a clean, consistent look across a whole catalogue or team.

The Library Approach

A shoot’s value depends on what happens after it. We deliver photography as an organized library, structured by subject and format so your team and ours can find the right image in seconds for the next post, the next proposal, the next campaign. Images are captured in the crops your marketing actually uses, and the library grows session by session into a real asset. The difference shows a year later, when your competitor is hunting through a camera roll and your team is publishing.

Photography And Your Brand

Photography is part of the brand system, not an accessory to it. Lighting, tone, framing and subject matter all carry feeling, and when they are art directed against your brand guidelines, every image reinforces the same identity your logo, colours and voice are building. This is where photography connects to our Branding & Creative work. The brands people recognize at a glance got there because everything, including the photographs, agrees about who the company is.

Questions & Answers

Questions
& Answers

Who does the shooting?

Professional photographers we select for each project, with CAYK planning and art directing. You get one point of accountability and craft matched to the job.

On site, venue or studio, how do we choose?

By what the images need to do. Team and workplace stories are strongest on site, events have to be covered where they happen, and products or headshots that need a consistent catalogue look belong in studio. Most annual plans mix all three.

Do we own the photos?

You receive a rights cleared library for your business use, with licensing terms stated plainly in the scope before the shoot.

How often should we refresh photography?

When the business changes. New people, new spaces, new products. Most clients are well served by an annual session planned around the year's marketing.

How long does a session take?

A focused session can run a half day. A full library covering people, spaces and products typically takes a day, sometimes more for multiple locations. The shot list decides, and you will know before anything is booked.

What do we need to prepare?

We send a prep list ahead of the shoot. Spaces tidy, products staged, the right people scheduled, and anything branded looking its best. An hour of preparation shows up in every photo for years.

Can you match the look of our existing brand?

Yes. Art direction starts from your brand guidelines, and if those guidelines do not yet cover photography style, defining it is a natural piece of brand work to add. Consistency is the point.

Can you handle headshots for a large team?

Yes. A studio style setup, on site or in studio, produces consistent headshots across the whole team in one scheduled day, with a repeatable setup for the new hires who join later.

Do you shoot outside Calgary?

Yes. Sessions are arranged where your business and your story are, with travel scoped plainly in the plan, the same way our campaigns and productions run in markets across Canada.

Can the photos run in ads and on billboards?

Yes, that is the point of planning formats up front. Sessions are shot with the crops and resolutions your campaigns need, from feed squares to large format print, and the usage rights are scoped to match. One session, every channel.

How do we get started?

Tell us where the images will work hardest, your website, a campaign, a rebrand rollout, and we will bring back a shot list and a plan. Most clients are surprised how much one well planned day covers.
